Discussion needed on use of restraints in aged care

The Head of Health, Law and Ageing Research at Monash University has encouraged the residential aged care sector to have an open conversation about the use of physical restraints. Professor Joseph Ibrahim stated that restraints were sometimes used to prevent residents from falling, however these restraints have caused deaths and should only be used in very rare circumstances.
