Electronic systems needed to reduce medication errors: study

Researchers have found that staff reporting of medication incidents in hospitals is not a reliable measure of performance quality, prompting calls for electronic medication solutions to be implemented. Macquarie University’s Australian Institute of Health Innovation discovered that many medication errors were missed by staff, and therefore go unreported.
