False ACFI claims could lead to fines
The Department of Health has told a Senate estimates hearing that fines of up to $10,800 could be issued to aged care providers making false ACFI claims, but only as a last resort. The department plans to focus more of its compliance activities around high-risk providers, and less time performing broader audits.
