Government spending on the rise for aged care

The aged care sector has received a 44 per cent increase in government funding from 2009-10, in line with a dramatic increase in the number of residential and home care places required. Two thirds of the $15.8 billion spent in 2014-15 was on residential aged care, with 27 per cent of residents requiring high levels of care.
