Personal robots helping elderly in their homes

Healthcare robots were recently trialled in the homes of elderly people living in rural areas, with the aim of reducing isolation and assisting in medical care. Managed by the University of Auckland, the robots provided medication reminders, monitored blood pressure and heart rate, and provided companionship through Skype functionality.
