Providers advised to implement social media policies

Legal experts have advised aged care providers to ensure they have an effective social media policy for staff, after an increase in legal queries from providers. Industry lawyer Julie McStay told the Nurses in Management Aged Care Conference that inappropriate comments on social media could lead to an organisation’s reputation being damaged, breach of contract and even unfair dismissal claims.
