Providers encouraged to reassess medication needs of residents

It has been revealed that up to 79 per cent of aged care residents would be willing to have one or more medications de-prescribed if a doctor said it was appropriate. Healthcare professionals are encouraged to look at whether long-term preventative medications are still necessary or appropriate for aged care residents.
