Resident Manager simplifies Medicare claiming for Lynden Aged Care

Telstra Health – Aged, Disability & Community Care (ADCC) designed our new Resident Manager software to help residential aged care providers manage resident administration and Medicare claiming. We spoke with Ann Turnbull, CEO of Lynden Aged Care, to find out how Resident Manager is benefiting their organisation.

Why did you decide to implement Resident Manager?

Our team at Lynden Aged Care has been using Telstra Health – ADCC’s Clinical, Care and Medication Management software for many years. When I received a demonstration of the new Resident Manager software, I could see the benefits for our organisation; particularly around the ability to convert leads to admissions and the ease of connecting directly to Medicare.

How has Resident Manager benefited your organisation so far?

Entering in leads and prospects into Resident Manager has saved us a lot of time on data entry, as the software retrieves an individual’s Aged Care Client Record (ACCR) number which populates information gathered by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). The automatic collection of the care recipient’s ID number has also saved us a lot of time, as we no longer have to enter an individual’s name, Medicare number, date of birth and other information into the Medicare portal in order to retrieve it. Now when a resident is admitted into our facility, I simply press the admit button in Resident Manager which transfers all of this information into Clinical, Care and Medication Management.

How has the integration from Resident Manager to Clinical, Care and Medication Management simplified your prospect and resident management process?

Having information transfer from Resident Manager to Clinical, Care and Medication Management has saved our staff a lot of time on data entry. As information linked to an ACCR automatically comes across into the software, our staff only need to manually enter a handful of details once a resident is admitted.

What is the main reason you would recommend Resident Manager to other aged care providers?

Resident Manager really does streamline sending and receiving information from Medicare. Now when a resident goes on leave, we can easily manage the process through the software, which will then automatically send the information to Medicare. Managing this through the Medicare portal had been a time-consuming process, so this functionality has saved our staff a lot of effort. I would recommend Resident Manager to any provider who feels this functionality would benefit their organisation.
