Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced that he has requested the Governor General establish a Royal Commission into the residential aged care and community care sector. It is anticipated the Royal Commission would look at the quality of care being delivered, the challenges of supporting an increasing number of people with dementia, the challenges of delivering care in regional and remote demographics, and caring for people with disabilities in residential aged care.
